无锡开源机床厂

Rubbings(拓片)开始于无锡工业遗产的可持续设计研究。江南重镇无锡，曾是中国民族资本工商业的摇篮。明清之际，无锡商业繁荣，百业兴旺，“米码头”、 “布码头”、 “丝茧码头”、 “银钱码头”等“四大码头”应运而生。半个多世纪的积累无锡保存下来大量的工业遗产，其中的开源机器厂，1948年由荣德生创办，系荣氏企业集团中之大型机械修造企业，建国后发展成为全国著名的无锡机床厂。我们探究老厂房里“记忆的拓片”，通过影像、实验性设计作品等手段述说已经逝去、即将丢失或是未来可能的有趣故事，表达回忆、纪念、还魂重现、希望等复杂情感，籍此延续工业文化的生命。

Wuxi Kaiyuan Machine Tools Mill
Wuxi, being situated in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, boasts over half century’s accumulation of industrial heritage. Wuxi Kaiyuan Machine Tools Mill, today’s Wuxi Kaiyuan Machine Tools Group Co., LTD, a large-sized backbone enterprise of the machinery industry in China, was founded by a famous industrialist Mr. Rong Desheng in 1948.
The project seeks to continue and expand the life of the industrial culture, not only reveals the long history of the mill in Wuxi, the cool scenes with the special aesthetics, but the workers’ everyday subtle life. It narrates the past, present, upcoming and imaginable stories through different media expressing the emotions such as recalling, commemorating, reviving, hoping etc., thus the industrial memory, its own value as a culture would get more attention and right preservation finally.
